About Andrew Krance

Born 5/21/1942 in Cedar Rapids (Iowa), in a family of artists (painter mother, pianist father). I have been painting oils and acrylics for about 50 years, in various styles, often reflecting various influences.

Initial studies in Mexico City led to further studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (graphics, painting, photography, sculpture, film, theater design), with three
degrees in Art: BA, MA, MFA. The latter was completed in 1967, under the direction of the abstract expressionist Milton Resnick.

I then moved to New York , and opened my painting studio in Manhattan. I remained in New York for the next 36 years, with occasional travels in France, Turkey, and Poland, where I worked with the U.S. Information Agency in 1965, demonstrating graphics techniques.

My paintings have been exhibited in various galleries and museums including group shows at the Milwaukee Art Center and Oshkosh Public Museum. My work has also been included in various private collections.

For the past twenty years I have been living in Florida.
